Sri .C. Krishnan, K. Raghavan and Srimathi. Booma Krishnan are trustees of the Sri Barathi Vidyalaya Trust. Srimathi. Booma Krishnan is the Correspondent of the school. Sri Barathi Vidyalaya Trust was established in Mannargudi under the relevant provisions of the Registration of Societies, Act, with the noble object of rendering various social and cultural obligations. As a first step the Trust Started a Nursery and Primary School with English as Medium of Instruction. The school was established on 2nd June 1997. Necessary orders of Recognition were obtained from the Government the same year. Sri Barathi Vidyalaya High School was started in 1998.

Classes were started simultaneously from standards VI to IX with Tamil as medium of instruction. The first set of students were presented for Government X standard Examination in 2002. Separate orders were obtained for running a parallel section in each standard with English as medium of instruction. For the last ten years the school has been functioning as a full-fledged institution offering instruction both in English and Tamil.
